Jennifer DeLong-White – Services for the Blind, DHHS NC

The North Carolina Division of Services for the Blind (DSB) has a long and rich history of services to the blind and visually impaired citizens of the State.

They are able to offer these services through cooperative efforts from Federal, State and County resources. Blind and visually impaired people as well as people with vision and hearing loss have benefited from their long partnership with the Lions Clubs and other consumer and advocacy groups throughout the State. The Division provides services statewide through staff in seven DSB District Offices and Social Workers for the Blind located in all North Carolina counties.   Jennifer DeLong-White is the social worker for New Hanover County.

Mark Nabell- Nabell and Winslow

Mark takes a definitively proactive approach to financial services. His commitment is to identify the most cost effective investment and planning strategies for each client. To accomplish this, Mark is both a student of the changing industry as well as someone who is constantly in touch with his clients’ changing goals and needs. It is through building strong relationships based on trust and professionalism that the best solutions can be identified and implemented for clients.

Mark has a specific expertise in retirement income planning and advanced planning strategies. For more than 20 years, Mark has been serving clients in the financial services industry at banks and institutions. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology. Mark holds the Series 7, 24, 53, 63, 65 securities registrations and has Life, Accident and Health insurance licenses.

A competitive swimmer in college, Mark is active today with surfing, hunting and fishing and is a member of Christ Community Church.

Scott Winslow

Scott is known for proactive, straightforward advanced planning advice. His area of expertise is in advanced planning and structuring for business and private clients that includes investing, retirement income planning, tax planning, capital transfer, life insurance, and estate planning. He is committed to highly personalized service for each of his clients.

Scott has been in the financial services industry since 1996. He began his career at Jefferson Pilot, worked at GE Financial, and then joined First Citizens Bank where he was Senior Vice President, Wealth Strategist in the Private Wealth Management division. Scott is widely recognized for his expertise and is regularly contacted by CPA’s and attorneys for advanced investment and financial tax planning advice. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Business Management from Mount Olive College. Scott holds the Series 6, 7, 63 and 65 securities registrations and has Life, Accident and Health insurance licenses as well as the Chartered Financial Consultant®(ChFC®).

A former collegiate soccer player, Scott continues to play on two soccer teams. He has one son, Colin.

Adam Shay CPA

Adam Shay, CPA (NC License Number 35961), MBA, is an accountant dedicated to helping clients make intelligent financial decisions and to legally minimize their tax liability.

Adam earned a Bachelor of Business Science degree in Commerce from the University of Virginia. He then went on to earn his Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Maryland. He is entrepreneur in residence- accounting for SeaHawk Innovation Management and serves as volunteer with the Cameron Executive Network at UNCW. In his spare time, Adam enjoys cooking, a variety of outdoor activities, and spending time with his wife Sarah, sons Wagner and Garrett, and dog TJ.
